Women's Track & Field Gains USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University women's track & field team was recognized by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday.

The squad, led by first-year Head Coach Peter Tuohy, was named to the USTFCCA All-Academic Team. The Red Hawks boasted a 3.44 GPA, as All-Academic Team selections needed a 3.1 cumulative GPA or higher to be recognized. Montclair was recognized with the All-Academic Team for the first time since 2012.

AUBREY JOHNSON won the 5,000-meter at the NJAC Indoor Championships, setting a new school record time of 18:14.17. The Red Hawks also claimed second in the DMR at the event, as JULIE MURPHY, JEALYNE RAMOS, KAYLA MCADAMS, and Johnson clocked in at 13:15.76. MICHELLE ITOUA set the school record in the 60m four times, finishing the indoor campaign with an eighth-place time of 7.87 at the AARTFC Indoor Regionals.

Montclair returned to the Penn Relays for the first time since 2016, with the 4x100 team of JESSICA HOLLER, ALEXA ALI, Ramos, and Itoua taking 15th in 51.59. Ramos, ODALYS GUERRERO-DOMINQUEZ, ASHTON WISELEY, and Ali finished sixth in the 4x400, registering a time of 4:15.6. Johnson was one of five Division III runners to compete in the 5K at the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton University. She crossed the finish line in 22nd place with a time of 18:49.05.
