New York, NY & Boston, Mass.- The Montclair State University Women's Indoor Track and Field team competed at the NYU DII Invite and the BU Valentine Invite on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- At the Boston University Valentine Invite, the Red Hawks were represented by ABIGAIL CHURCHILL and JULIA ACEVEDO. Churchill competed in the mile and broke her school record when she clocked a 5:17.44. Acevedo competed in the triple jump and compiled a mark of 10.64m (34' 11").
- At the NYU DIII Invite, Montclair was led by TORI SUTERA and DENISSE AGUILAR. Sutera posted a mile time of 5:20.02 that was good for a third-place finish. Aguilar placed fifth in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:45.30.
- MAILE O'NEILL and MCKAY ALBY each qualified for the 60-meter dash finals with times of 8.04. In the finals, O'Neil clocked a time of 8.03 to place sixth. Alby placed eighth with a time of 8.13.
- The Red Hawks earned their best time of the year in the 4x400 relay. The quartet of KAELYN RODRIGUEZ, ALEXA ALI, MICHELLE ITOUA, and ODALYS GUERRERO-DOMINQUEZ clocked a time of 4:09.47. That earned a second-place finish at the meet.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
- Churchill breaks the record she set this season at the Ramapo Opener of 5:22.17. Sutera's run becomes the second fastest time in program history. Churchill's time also places her in the top 10 in the Metro Region and fourth in the NJAC.
- Montclair's 4x400 team time today ranks fourth in the NJAC and Metro region after today
