Acevedo, 4x200 Relay Team Place Third for Women's Track & Field at First Day of NJAC Championships

Philadelphia, PA The Montclair State University women's track & field team notched two top three finishes in Day One of the 2025 New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Hawks were led by JULIA ACEVEDO, who placed third in the Pentathlon with 2,625 points. The 4x200 meter relay team of MICHELLE ITOUA, ALEXA ALI, MAILE O'NEILL, and MCKAY ALBY also notched a third place finish with a time of 1:44.73.
  • Montclair placed four in the top eight in the 60m prelims, led by a personal best 7.79 from Alby, which ranks 51st in the nation among Division III. FAITH WILLIAMS also notched a personal best with a mark of 7.97, with Ituoa (7.97) and O'Neill (7.99) rounding out the group.
  • In the shot put, MAYA YESALONIS recorded a new career-best mark of 11.38m, which placed fifth among the field. JAYLIN APONTE (10.12) and CHLOE BRIJBAG (10.06) placed 10th and 11th in the event.
  • KAELYN RODRIGUEZ finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.00m, with DEANNA HEPPLE placing 10th at 4.43m.
  • KENDALL HALL placed seventh in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 9.72, with JESSICA HOLLER finishing ninth at 10.15.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
  • Through the first day of competition, Montclair ranks fourth among the field with 25 points. 
  • Alby's time in the 60m marked a new school record, surpassing Itoua's time of 7.87 set in 2024. The time for Williams ranks fourth in program history and is also an AARTFC qualifier.
  • The Distance Medley Relay team of TORI SUTERA, Odalys Guerreo-Dominquez, LILIANA SNYDER, and ABIGAIL CHURCHILL notched an AARTFC qualifying time and now ranks second in program history with a mark of 12:47. It also ranks 41st in the nation.

UP NEXT

The Red Hawks will return to Philadelphia for the second day of NJAC Championships on Sunday, February 23, with the meet scheduled for 4:00 PM.
