Philadelphia, Pa.- The Montclair State University Women's Indoor Track and Field team saw one of their best finishes ever at the NJAC Championships when they placed fourth overall with 74 total points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After yesterday's preliminaries, the Red Hawks placed four of their student-athletes in the 60-meter dash finals. MCKAY ALBY led the way with a second-place finish of 7.77. She was followed by MAILE O'NEILL in foruth (7.95), FAITH WILLIAMS in fifth (7.96), and MICHELLE ITOUA in eighth (8.17).
- Alby was not done earning medals though as she also placed third in the 200-meter dash when she clocked a personal-record time of 25.81. Itoua also saw a season-best time in the 200 with a time of 26.31 that placed 10th.
- JULIA ACEVEDO also saw a medal performance. In the triple jump, she compiled a mark of 10.48m (34' 4.75") which was good for third place and a bronze medal.
- In the mile run, it was TORI SUTERA who led the way with a fifth-place finish of 5:18.90 which was a personal best mark for her. ABIGAIL CHURCHILL finished seventh with a time of 5:20.40 and LILIANA SNYDER posted a personal-best run of 45:32.55 that placed 10th.
- ODALYS GUERRERO-DOMINQUEZ also saw a personal-best mark at the championships with her time of 1:01.08. She finished eighth among the field.
- The 4x400 quartet of Nylah Hannah, Guerrero-Dominquez, Synder, and Churchill saw a top-five finish in the event. The team placed fourth among the field with a team time of 4:12.37.
