Ewing, NJ. - The Montclair State University women's outdoor track and field team opened up at the TCNJ Multi Invite on Thursday and Friday afternoons.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• KELLY WITTERS and DENISSE AGUILAR each saw top-five finishes in their respective events with fourth-place finishes. Witters finished fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 14:54.57. Aguilar ran the 5k and clocked a season-best time of 18:58.98.
• CAITLIN WITTERS also ran the 5000-meter run and placed ninth with a time of 22:31.92.
• JESSICA HOLLER led the way for Montclair in the javelin with a ninth-place throw of 24.33m (79' 10"). She was followed closely by Izzy DeCrease who placed 10^th with a mark of 20.32m (66' 8").
• In the hammer throw, the best mark for Montclair was set by JAYLIN APONTE, who placed 19^th with a mark of 29.47m (96' 8")

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Aguilar posted a season-best in the 5000-meter run by about two seconds from last week's run at Muhlenberg.
