Montclair, NJ- The Montclair State University Women's Indoor Track and Field team is set for action in 2026 as they resume the season at the NYC Gotham Cup on Friday afternoon.

Leading the way was TANIYA GILES, who won the shot put with a distance of 12.12m (39' 9.25"). She was followed by JAELANI HERNANDEZ, who notched fourth place with a distance of 10.81m (35' 5.75"). CHARLEY KLINE had an impressive debut for the Red Hawks. She came in second in the triple jump with a jump of 10.42m (34' 2.25) and placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.21m (17' 1.25"). Maya Yesolinas competed in the weight throw and threw for a distance of 13.87m (45' 6.25") for a third-place finish. She was joined in the top 10 by KAITLYN CHIRKIS, who notched seventh with a distance of 9.27m (30' 5"). In the 60-meter dash, the Red Hawks were led by MCKAY ALBY, who clocked a 7.90 to take fourth place. She was followed by AISHA GARCIA, who placed fifth (7.97), and MAILE O'NEILL, who took seventh (8.09). Also competing in the triple jump were SARAH LUMAS and MARYAM KARIYM. Lumas placed sixth with a distance of 10.05m (32' 11.75") and Kariym, who notched seventh with a jump of 10.02 (32' 10.5"). Odalys Guerrero-Dominquez was the lone runner for the Red Hawks in the 600-meter run. She clocked a 1:41.75 that was good for a sixth-place finish. In the 1000-meter run, MACKENZIE COCHRAN led the way for a sixth-place finish of 3:33.14. She was followed by SOFIA MELO PATERNINA, who notched seventh (3:37.77), and AMBER SHEA, who finished ninth (3:43.64). In the 400-meter run, Montclair saw three top-10 finishes. DEANNA HEPPLE placed eighth (1:04.01), NYLA HANNAH placed ninth (1:06.21), and Allahjah Young-Bey placed tenth (1:07.28). MICEL MARTINEZ earned herself a seventh-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.53m (5' 0.25'), while ZAIDA TAYLOR-BURCH notched 10^th in the long jump with a distance of 4.81m (15' 9.50").
