Colorado Springs, CO- Announced on Wednesday morning by the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA), Montclair State University field hockey junior goalkeeper SYDNEY WHITE earned herself NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week for her performances against William Paterson and Kean last week.

White was exceptional for Montclair during a 2-0 week for Montclair. She had a shutout win on Wednesday against William Paterson. She came back on Saturday against Kean and amassed 23 saves in a game that went to a penalty shootout. She made two clutch saves during the shootout, including the one that secured the 3-2 triumph for the Red Hawks. Her 23 saves rank as the third-best mark in a single game in program history, surpassing the 21 saves she had just a week prior against Stockton.

This is the second time in her career that she has earned Defensive Player of the Week from the NFHCA, being selected last season after the first week of the 2025 season.

Field Hockey hosts Connecticut College tonight at 6:00 p.m. on Rick Giancola – Sprague Field.
