Pitman, NJ- Announced on Tuesday afternoon by the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) office, the Montclair State University softball team has been slated to finish sixth this season according to the 2026 NJAC Preseason Poll.

The Red Hawks are coming off a season where they finished 24-17 and 9-9 in NJAC play. They qualified for the NJAC Tournament for the first time in three seasons and won a playoff game fore the first time in five seasons.
 
Montclair is set to begin the season with a doubleheader against FDU-Florham on Wednesday, March 4, with the first game set for a 3:00 p.m. start.
