Women’s Track & Field Sees Strong Finish to NJAC Championships; Medals Four Times on Day Two

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Montclair State University Women's Indoor Track and Field team saw a strong finish to the 2026 NJAC Indoor Championships, earning four medals on the second day on Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Two of the four medals came in the 60-meter dash. MCKAY ALBY saw the highest placement of the evening with a second-place finish of 7.73. MAILE O'NEILL clocked the same time but was .05 milliseconds off and finished third. AISHA GARCIA was also in the top-five, finishing in fourth with a time of 7.92.
  • ABIGAIL CHURCHILL secured her spot on the podium in the 3000-meter run. She placed third with a time of 10:28.25, earning bronze.
  • MICEL MARTINEZ also earned bronze in her first-ever NJAC Championship meet. Her medal came during the high jump, where she marked a height of 1.53m (5' 0.25"). SARAH LUMAS finished the same event in tenth with a mark of 1.38m (4' 6.25").
  • ALICIA RIGGINS earned a top-five finish in the 60-meter hurdles when she finished with a time of 9.63.
  • Alby and O'Neill also earned top-eight finishes in the 200-meter dash. Alby led with a time of 25.64 for fifth place, while O'Neill finished right behind in sixth with a time of 25.69.
  • MAYA YESALONIS also notched a top-five with a fifth-place finish in the weight throw. She put together a distance of 14.33m (47' .25").
  • ODALYS GUERRERO-DOMINGUEZ led Montclair in the 400-meter dash. She placed sixth with a time of 1:00.47
  • The Red Hawks also saw three finishes in the top eight in the triple jump. MARYAM KARIYM led Montclair in sixth place (10.51m/34' 5.75"), followed by CHARLEY KLINE in seventh (10.44m/34' 3") and Lumas in eighth (34').
  • The 4x400 relay wrapped up the event, finishing fifth. The mashup of KAELYN RODRIGUEZ, Guerrero-Dominguez, Ali, and A'SYA BROWN clocked a team time of 4:10.87.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
  • Montclair finished the meet collecting the second most total medals in indoor program history. They are only behind the 2012-13 season, where the Red Hawks came away with seven.

  • Montclair State University will compete next at the AARTFC Championships at the NYC Armory. The two-day meet starts on March 6 at 11:00 a.m.
