JOHN TOMSHO and
JORDAN TARABOKIA were selected as NJAC Rookies of the Week for their performances on the diamond between March 10 and 16.
Representing baseball was Tomsho, who was honored as the Rookie of the Week. Tarabokia represented softball as the Rookie Pitcher of the Week.
Tomsho made a big impact on Montclair's 5-0 week. In four games, he finished 6-for-15 (.400) with five RBI, nine runs scored, two doubles, and a home run. He hit his first career home run in a win against FDU-Florham on Tuesday and scored three runs each in the final two victories against MIT on Saturday and Sunday.
Tarabokia wrapped up the week down at The Spring Games in Florida in impressive style. In her final three appearances of the trip, she pitched 11.0 innings and compiled a 1.27 ERA with six hits allowed and four runs (two earned) and struck out a team-leading 12 batters. In her final start of the week on Friday against Dean, she pitched the program's 43rd no-hitter in a six-inning win against Dean.
Jordan earns back-to-back Rookie Pitcher of the Week accolades to start her collegiate career, while Tomsho earned his first weekly award from the NJAC.
Baseball will play the fourth game of its seven-game homestand, welcoming in SUNY New Paltz on Tuesday, March 17 at 3:00 p.m. Softball will host its first doubleheader on Thursday, March 19 against Stevens starting at 2:00 p.m.
