MICEL MARTINEZ were tabbed as NJAC Rookies of the Week for their respective sports. They were honored for their performances between March 23 and 29.
O'Brien was sensational in Montclair's 4-0 week. The freshman infielder finished with seven hits, eight RBI, six runs scored, and two stolen bases. His highlight performance came during the second game of the Red Hawks' NJAC-opening doubleheader against Stockton, where he finished 3-for-4 with three RBI, three runs scored, and stole two bases.
Martinez made history on Saturday at the Ramapo Track & Field Invitational. She jumped 1.68m in the high jump to break the school record. That mark also sits as the third-best mark in the nation so far.
Martinez earns this honor in back-to-back weeks, while O'Brien earns his first weekly award from the NJAC.
