Pitman, NJ- The Montclair State University softball team kicked off its season slate by having two student-athletes get named as NJAC Athletes of the Week.
 
CARLEE IANNONE was named Player of the Week, while JORDAN TARABOKIA notched Rookie Pitcher of the Week.
 
Iannone had a strong start to the season for Montclair. In four games, she finished 8-for-15 (.533) and tallied four RBI, two runs scored, and stole a base. Her week included a 4-for-4 showing in a 4-0 win against Penn State Berks on Saturday.
 
Tarabokia started off her collegiate career on a high note. She started during Penn State Berks on Saturday and notched a complete-game shutout, allowing five hits and striking out seven batters. She also came in during relief on Sunday against Wheaton and pitched three shutout innings, and allowed just one hit and an unearned run. She walked no batters between two games.
 
Iannone earns her second career NJAC Player of the Week honor, while Tarabokia earns a weekly award in her first weekend of play as a collegiate athlete.
 
Montclair is set for doubleheader action tomorrow as they take on WPI starting at 10:00 a.m.
