Pitman, NJ- Announced on Monday afternoon by the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) office, Montclair State University saw four of its student-athletes earn NJAC Athlete of the Week awards for their performances between April 6 and 13.

Softball almost completed a clean sweep of weekly awards, taking three of the four with CARLEE IANNONE (Player of the Week), CARLY MOCKENHAUPT (Pitcher of the Week), and EMILY LESHIK (Rookie Pitcher of the Week) all being honored. For baseball, DANNY O'BRIEN was tabbed as the NJAC Rookie of the Week.

On Saturday, she earned her fourth shutout win of the season, pitching all seven innings and striking out four batters in Montclair's 3-0 triumph at #15 Stockton. Mockenhaupt finished the week with an ERA of 0.47.

Leshik put together great relief outings for the Red Hawks this week, not allowing a run in 6.2 innings. On Wednesday against FDU-Florham, she tossed five scoreless innings, allowed just three hits, and struck out four batters. On Saturday at #15 Stockton, she pitched 1.2 innings and did not surrender a hit or a run, and struck out three batters.

Mockenhaupt and Leshik both earned their first NJAC weekly awards in their Red Hawk careers, with Leshik becoming the third rookie pitcher for Montclair to earn NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week. Softball also earns its first three-award week for the NJAC for the first time since 2020.
