Gearity, named the NJAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, had an outstanding first meet of the outdoor campaign posting three ECAC Championship qualifying times while placing in the Top 10 in two individual events at the Monmouth University Season Opener. Gearity, the defending NCAA Division III champion in the 400 meter hurdles, won the event at Kessler Field posting a time of 1:01.21 to beat out a field of 20 competitors. She also finished seventh in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.24 seconds before wrapping up her day in the 4x400 relay. Running the leadoff leg, Gearity combined with her teammates to help Montclair State to a fifth-place finish in the event at 4:06.63.
