Dale Garlick was one of the finest all-around baseball players to ever play for Montclair State. As a centerfielder, he set a standard of excellence for all centerfielders in the New Jersey State College Athletic Conference, and as a batter, Garlick set three MSC records – highest career batting average (.384), highest career slugging percentage (.637) and highest single-season slugging percentage for over 70 at bats (.750). Garlick was selected First-Team All-America in his senior year when he batted .438 and had 33 RBI. He also made All-Conference teams in both his junior and senior years.
