Ralph Yezza

Yezza was a two-time All-American earning honors as a third baseman and outfielder from 1992- 95. A three-time All-NJAC selection, he helped the Red Hawks to two appearances in the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship, including the 1993 national championship and was named to the World Series All-Tournament Team that season. In 173 career games, the right-handed hitting Yezza batted .389 with 253 hits, 50 doubles, 30 home runs and 185 runs batted in to go along with 175 runs scored. A three-time All-Region selection and the 1994 Mid- Atlantic Regional Tournament Most Valuable Player, he batted .441 with 14 homers and 64 RBI in as Montclair made a return trip to the World Series. In the regional tournament at Skylands Park, Yezza left his mark on the newly-built ballpark as he hit two round-trippers against Trenton State, including a mammoth 430-foot blast that left a huge dent in the new scoreboard. He is currently stands third all time in career batting average and held the top spot for doubles in a career until 2001. He also ranks third in career hits, total bases and runs batted in and is fourth in runs scored and home runs.
