A premier linebacker who captained the MSC football squad for two years, Peter Contaldi was on the best football players in Montclair State history. He was also one of the most honored players in MSC history. To list a few – as a senior he was the first Montclair State player to be named NCAA All-America. He was also All-Conference; a member of the New York Times All-East Team; selected to the ECAC All-East team and was named to the “Outstanding College Athlete of America Hall of Fame”. Contaldi was also a key factor in the 1970 Knute Rockne Bowl Championship and in his three years of versity play, the team posted a 24-5 record.
