Billy Rose had a “won-loss” pitching percentage record of .750 and also had the single-season record for win which he held for several seasons. He lost only four games in the two years he was a varsity starter. Although he was unable to pitch for the next two years because of arm trouble, he batted sufficiently well enough to help lead the team to a 31-15 cumulative record. He also played varsity basketball for four years and was the captain of the 1955-6 team. In all, he earned eight versuty awards during his four undergraduate years.
