One of the all-time great pitchers in the history of Montclair State softball, Baron pitched three seasons for the Red Hawks in the mid 1990s and was a three-time National Fastpich Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-American. A three-time All-Region selection, Baron was the New Jersey Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year in a 1995 and 1996 and led the Red Hawks to three NCAA Division III Tournament appearances. Baron posted a 56-22 career record with a 2.44 earned run average and 11 shutouts. In 490 innings, she struck out 377 batters and also recorded six saves. Baron went 24-6 with a 1.61 ERA in 1995 allowing just 161 hits in 206 innings with 154 strikeouts the latter number a new single-season mark. She followed that up with a 23-8 record  the following year fanning 138 hitters to finish her career with 377 setting the Montclair State career record. A back-to-back First-Team All-NJAC selection, Baron ended her career third on the all-time list for victories.
