Rehain was a three-sport star from 1961-64, participating in football, gymnastics and basebll. In 1962, Rehain was a member of the football secondary that finished second in the nation for Division III in pass defense, while in 1963 boasted a 42.5 average punting, placing him fourth in the nation. During his baseball career, Rehain led the New Jersey Conference in saves in 1964 with four and had 38 strikeouts in 38 innings of relief while compiling a 3-2 record. He laos led the team in stolen bases, runs scored and was second with a .315 batting average as MSC won the conference title in 1963 and 1964. He was All-Conference in baseball in 1963-64, winning the Charles Turek Senior Award for sportsmanship in 1964. He was also All-Conference in football in 1963. In 1981, Rehain won the distinguished Alden C. Coder Award for continued success in education and sports.
