Randi Burdick

A talented athlete, Randi Burdick was an active member of both the basketball and softball teams. A member of the first NJ women’s basketball team to reach the national tournament, Burdick was honored by the NJ State Legislator in recognition as captain of that team. When she graduated, Burdick was then the highest scoring guard in Montclair State history with 841 points. In her senior year, Budick scored in 21 of the 25 games she started and was a finalist in the United State Olympic Regional tryouts. Upon graduation, Burdick was a member of the New Jersey Gems and Minnesota Fillies of the Women’s Professional Basketball League. A three-year member of the softball team, Burdick finished with a career batting average of .400 with six home runs and 19 stolen bases. In 1975 she was drafted by the Pennsylvania Liberties of the Women’s Professional Softball League and in 1978 became a member of the famous Budweiser Bells enjoying State Championships on four occasions.
