In her freshman year, she led Montclair to a 1-0 record and a second-place finish in the NJAIAW Championships. At the tournament, she finished second in the 100-yard freestyle as well as the 200-yard individual medley. What she learned during her first three seasons paid huge dividends in her senior year. Captaining MSU’s swim team, she led by example, winning 29 races during the year. She dominated sprinting events, clocking seven first-place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle. Over her career, she established herself as one of the premier sprinters in the Metropolitan area, winning multiple Metropolitan Championships. Her great range and versatility that year came in nine different events. The fruits of her hard work were never more evident than at the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia. It was there that she helped to set three new Montclair State records. As a member of Montclair’s dominant relay team, new records in the 400 freestyle relay were set.
