Kristin Kuhmann Masiero ranks as one of the best goaltenders in Montclair State history in two sports – soccer and lacrosse. She was a two-time All-NJAC selection in soccer and was named the NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year in 2006. Kuhmann was also a four-time All-Conference pick in lacrosse, two in the Knickerbocker Women's Lacrosse Conference and two in the Skyline Conference. She helped lead the Montclair State women’s soccer team to its first NJAC Championship in 2004 with an incredible performance recording 14 saves against The College of New Jersey during regulation and two more during penalty kicks in the title game. The Red Hawks would advance to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament that season. Kuhmann also helped the lacrosse team to the postseason for the first time in its history in 2005 as Montclair earned a spot in the ECAC Tournament and a year later she was part of the team that captured the Skyline Conference and ECAC Lacrosse Upstate Championships. In 2007, she was an integral part in leading Montclair State to its second straight Skyline Conference crown but more importantly its first NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Tournament berth where MSU advanced to the second round. Kuhmann completed her career on the soccer pitch as the all-time leader in saves (381) and was second in goals against average (0.88), victories (31) and shutouts (28). She holds those same marks in the lacrosse record book with 48 victories, 595 saves and goals against average (7.54).
